It is that time of the year again for the nation’s largest giving day, North Texas Giving Day on September 14, 2017. It is the region’s annual 18-hour online philanthropy palooza benefitting nonprofits within the 16 counties of North Texas. The day’s goal is to make giving easy for donors, while also fostering support and awareness for local nonprofits. It has been occurring annually since 2009 and has distributed $156 million to the communities of North Texas. Just last year, $37 million was raised through 142,000+ gifts that benefited more than 2,500 nonprofits.
The action does not take place solely online. There are Donation Stations that happen in several cities. Denton will be having one this year located on the Courthouse Green (110 West Hickory St.) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be featured nonprofits with activity booths, a battle of the bands hosted by LSA Burgers, and delicious Beth Marie’s ice cream. So make sure you come out to show support for your local nonprofits and do not forget to give!
