How long have you done business in Denton?
How long have you been a member of the Denton chamber?
Denton is a unique, vibrant, and eclectic business city. In a few sentences, describe how you fit in the Denton community.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with many of Denton’s businesses both large and small. I work hard at building relationships with my clients that last. A number of my clients have been with me for 25 or more years. By being a small business, I have a lot of flexibility and can be responsive to client’s needs by tailoring professional photography solutions for corporations, institutions, and individuals because not everyone’s needs are the same.
What is your business’ most outstanding quality? Why?
I always try to provide the highest caliber of work and value for my clients. It makes me feel good to hear clients tell me they got everything they had hoped for and more. After more than three decades providing photography services in Denton, the methods and technology have changed, but treating clients right is still the same as ever…it’s just good for business.
What do you like most about doing business in Denton?
I like the diversity of work I find here. From manufacturing to medical, to banking and education, Denton has a lot going on all the time. I might be shooting trucks one day, a nurse another day, a rodeo queen, a large corporate event, an open heart surgery, you name it. It keeps things interesting for sure!
What has most influenced your success?
I think the wealth of opportunities offered by the mix of businesses and institutions here in Denton has been the key. My being able to relate and adapt to a wide variety of needs for some very specialized clients as well as more general photography such as portraiture have all played into my still being here after 30+ years when lots of other folks have come and gone. I feel very fortunate.
Do you have any upcoming events and/or plans?
I am trying to do more personal projects these days. Those often include trips to photograph birds and wildlife around the state and country. I am going to be photographing birds in the Rio Grande Valley for a week very soon, and last fall I photographed Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese out in New Mexico for several days. I also plan to participate in more fine art exhibitions and shows. The personal work is fantastic for keeping a sharp creative edge in the corporate and commercial work as well.
What do you do to unwind after a hard day’s work?
I work out at a gym, ride bikes (pedal and motorcycle), and play competitive table tennis.
Tell us a fun fact about your business: I was one of the first North Texas photographers to transition to digital imaging, and still print all my own work, both portraits and fine art prints.
